Before & After

Can you tell I have been going through old photos? I found this school photo taken of me when I was 9 years old. Then I found this fairly current photo of me in which I have a similar expression and smile.

Egads! How did I live with hair over my ears? I can't stand it now!

Let's see. The Shrone at age 9. Here are some facts you might be entertained with:

• My birthday cake had a 3 dimensional Pink Pather
• While in the 4th grade I got my first set of braces
• My best friend's name was Susan
• Spelling was my favorite subject
• Mr. Lintott was my teacher. My nickname for him was The Old Man (because he was elderly, but it wasn't meant as an insult)
• School started that year on August 31st
• Mork & Mindy was my favorite show
• I saw a speech therapist as I had a bit of a problem pronouncing R's and L's, which was somewhat important to correct since my last name is Carlson
• I desparately wanted to have bunny rabbits for a pet
• My favorite toys were a plush Snoopy and Woodstock that had thematic outfits that I could dress them up in and all of this stuff was bought at a store called The Friendship Station (I wonder how much my set would auction for now if it still existed? Some of that stuff has to be collectible now!)
