Thirteen Bird Names: Spot the Fake Birds

If you are a bird watcher and enthusiast, then you known that titmice and boobies are not fictitious, though they should be PG-13 rated. I thought I'd try my hand at making up some, and of course season the list with real ones. Can you spot the fake birds?

  1. double breasted boobie
  2. Lucifer hummingbird
  3. crack-shelled nuthatch
  4. rosy nippled titmouse
  5. golden-fronted woodpecker
  6. tree mangling sapsucker
  7. Dean's martin, a.k.a. Steve's martin
  8. Clarke's nutcracker
  9. Cod swallow
  10. ruby throated screech owl
  11. bushtit
  12. North American split-tail
  13. saltmarsh sharped-tailed sparrow

Will the fake birds please stand up?
