House!

Slowly but surely I am telling you more about
our adventures in the redwoods. See, we've been looking for a new place to live,
and even though I'd love to live inside of one of the redwood trees, it just
wouldn't work out very well. If the tree fell down, we'd be in a real pickle!
The Powers That Be have been kind to us and we have found a house in Centralia.
It's a Tudor-esque type style, built in 1915. The house has oodles of charm and
enchantment potential. There's strange cubby holes, weirdness lurking to be
discovered. I think I could get lost in the place!
Pooky and I have already been planning about potential themes and styles to
decorate the interiors, and I've said we should just do a hodge-podge and be
eclectic about it, since we both like the Victorian/Edwardian styles as well as
hints of Oriental motifs. I thought it would be cool to do the dining room in a
Thomas Kincade theme, but then remembered how much it costs to buy even an
inexpensive print of one of his paintings, and then I thought "gee, we have
taken literally thousands of photos, why don't we enlarge them and frame them
and use them?"
Pooky agreed with the idea, that we'll enlarge our own photos, coating the walls
with our adventures all over the country.
I was thinking we could call the new house The House of Doo or more simple yet,
Tudor Doo, but that sounds a little too whimsical and houses tend to be more
seriously bestowed with a moniker, so I will be thinking about it, tapping into
whatever British genes I may have to properly name the new humble abode.
