We all knew it was just a matter of time before the plastic surgery craze would extend into the realm of beautification of pets. Mr. Doo has been feeling less evil thanks to those annoying black spots filling in his right eye, and he thinks that the new, Godzilla-lizard eye look is just the cat's meow!
Mr. Doo, armed with a brand-new credit card, located a questionably reputable low-cost plastic surgeon to have his eyes done. He now joins the ranks of other aging celebrities who seek out cosmetic improvements all in the name of fashion and trend-setting.
Once in awhile the skies of Washington state clear out so that we can observe these celestial events that come about once every couple of years. Last night I stepped outside to see what kind of image I could capture with my simple camera. Not bad considering this is through a digital zoom. Gazing at the eclipsed moon that looked a little ruddy, I felt transported back to an ancient time in which people may have looked at a similar scene and looked at the moon, felt connected to the Universe and their souls and each other. I had the wild idea that maybe a priestess would prepare before the eclipse so that she might gaze upon the shadowed face and scry. The moon holds mystical, magical powers that seemed to radiate from Her shadowed face.
What amazed me is how many people in the neighborhood stepped outside to look at the moon. I tell myself that people are very disconnected from Nature, and do not pay much attention to the greater workings of the flora and fauna around them. I observed a handful of people looking up at the moon with me during the 30 minutes I stayed out in the chilly air to see the majesty of the eclipse.
I texted John about the moon and he said it reminded him to look up and see it. It's weird to think we saw the same moon but "three hours apart" in the space-time continuum. I wonder if his moon looked the same as my moon?
My thought is that even when I'm drunk, I can still spell perfectly! My knowledge of alcohol comes from watching Modern Marvels on the History Channel. My ability to spell correctly comes from having a partially photographic memory. It's my story that I'm sticking to!

As for the dumbness quiz, I did need to calculate out the conversions for the meters as I don't have the brain power to work it out in my head. Somehow I do recall the conversion rates (all of those years in the hard sciences have had some kind of impact on me).

I sometimes wonder if media hype isn't purposefully generated or exaggerated to create these societal frenzies that are temporarily more important in our lives than the latest female celebrity to fall off the wagon? Am I not a dedicated fan for visiting the reported sites that claim to have HP spoilers? The information is conflicting from the two sites I found that weren't shut down--which makes me ponder that these sites aren't authentic. Let's have some fun with the spoiler craze! Here's the lanyard I made for my ID badge and office key. The charms include a yin-yang symbol which serves to remind me of the duality of life and to remember that both sides need each other and to know that not everything is either/or but really both/and. Opposite of the yin-yang is a cupid with a blue piece of glass. This represents my passion for my work and to inspire and incite love within myself and others.
Next is a spring/nature goddess charm and opposite to her is a marriage license. The marriage license is obvious since I perform wedding ceremonies. The goddess charm symbolizes my love of nature, flowers, earth, and all things pagan.
The next pair is a recipe and oven mitt and then the word love with a heart. I love baking for people and sharing food and goodies. My expression of love and friendship most often is expressed by a container full of cookies or a cheesecake. I connect with people through food. Love almost need not be explained.
The last two charms are a pair of hands and a sun/moon. The sun & moon together remind me of the masculine and feminine, the night and day. The pair of hands struck me as interesting in that in the western world people would interpret them to be praying hands, but in the eastern world they could be seen as part of the namaste salutation.
The beads are blue goldstone, a man-made gemstone that sparkles brilliantly when in sunlight.
